Treasurer
Laura I. M. Green, RDH, M.Ed., FADHA
Laura Green began her dental career as a chairside dental assistant in 1989, spending more than a decade in that role before earning her dental hygiene degree from Weber State University in 2004. She graduated as a SADHA senior class representative and inductee into both Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Phi Alpha honor societies. After several years in private practice, she joined the clinical faculty at the Utah College of Dental Hygiene in 2009 and is now its Director of Dental Hygiene. It is the role she considers the most significant and rewarding of her career, guiding students not just in clinical skills but in the ethical responsibilities that define what it means to be an oral health care provider. She calls Sandy, Utah home.
Laura’s association service began immediately after graduation as co-chair of the Utah Dental Hygienists’ Association Ways and Means Committee. She went on to serve as UDHA treasurer for four years and held three consecutive offices in the UDHA presidential succession. At the national level, she served as alternate delegate, delegate, delegate chair and reference committee chair to the ADHA House of Delegates, and most recently as ADHA District X Director.
Her advocacy extends beyond the association. Through years of work with the Utah Oral Health Coalition, eventually serving as co-chair, Laura has helped build the policy relationships that allow Utah dental hygienists to reach patients who would otherwise go without care. It is, she says, the kind of work that reminds her why she joined the profession in the first place.
