Continuing Education
ADHA is proud to offer continuing education at local component and state constituent meetings. These courses are available to both members and non-members. Find your local component to search for courses they offer.
You can also contact a nearby university dental school or dental hygiene program for a listing of upcoming continuing education offerings. If you have specific questions about the continuing education requirements in your state, or to find out if specific courses will be accepted, please consult your state dental board or view CE Requirements by State for more details. ADHA is excited to offer On Demand CE webinars as a member benefit. These webinars were live on the date listed in the title and are now available as archived recordings. The on-demand webinars are free for members on their Member’s Only page at www.adha.org. Each webinar is worth 1 CE credit upon successful completion of the post-test.

Self-Study CE

ADHA is proud to offer a wide selection of convenient online continuing education courses in easy-to-use self-paced modules. Each course is followed by a post-test that can be completed and submitted online.Course fees are $15 (ADHA members), $20 (non-members). Courses range from 2 to 4 CE units per course. Successful participants will be awarded either 2 CE units for each course, as noted.To begin, simply click “Access Self-Study Courses” button below. Follow the program instructions to complete the course module, payment and post-test submission.Immediately following submission of the post-test for all CDE World courses, tests are scored and successful participants are immediately provided a CE certificate.

Serving Children with Special Health Care Needs

A web-based continuing education course, Special Care: An Oral Health Professional’s Guide to Serving Young Children with Special Health Care Needs provides oral health care professionals with information for treating young children with special health care needs. This course helps ensure that these patients gain access to health-promotion and disease-prevention services that address their unique needs in a comprehensive, family-centered and community-based manner. Provided by ADHA and the National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center (OHRC), this course is free of charge and awards 4 continuing education hours. CE certificates are provided at the middle of the month following completion.

Each year ADHA's Annual Conference includes an educational component, where you can attend a wide variety of cutting- edge CE programming during three days of specifically designed courses that can apply for all dental hygienists’ roles. ADHA's Annual Conference also offers courses for individual development.
