ADHA Student Proud Instagram Giveaway Official Rules
(“OFFICIAL RULES”)

The “ADHA Student Proud Instagram Promo Giveaway” (the “Giveaway”) is sponsored by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and Heartland Dental (collectively, the “Sponsor”). This Giveaway is governed by these Official Rules. By participating in the Giveaway, each entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and understands that the results of the Giveaway, as determined by the Sponsor and its agents, are final in all respects. The Giveaway is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.

  1. ELIGIBILITY: This Giveaway is open only to legal residents of the United States (excluding residents of Florida). Only individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older (except, in the case of legal residents of certain states where the legal age of majority is greater than eighteen (18) years of age, such legal age of majority) at the time of entry and are a student enrolled in a undergraduate dental hygiene program in the United States. Employees, officers, and directors (including immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and members of the same household, whether or not related) of the Sponsors and any and all companies associated with the Giveaway are not eligible to participate or win the Prizes (as defined below). Eligibility is also contingent upon compliance with these Official Rules and fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. The Giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Void in Florida and where prohibited or restricted by law, rule, or regulation. Residents of Florida are not eligible to enter or win.
  2. HOW TO ENTER: There is no entry fee, and no purchase is necessary to enter or win this Heartland Dental Giveaway. The Giveaway begins at 8:00am CT on April 13, 2026 and ends at midnight CT on April 17, 2026 (“Submission Period”). Entrants entering the Giveaway electronically will enter by filling out the lead generation form on the dedicated Student Proud Week 2026 landing page. All Submissions must be received during the Submission Period. Sponsor reserves the right to extend or shorten the Giveaway at its sole discretion.
  3. ALTERNATE METHOD OF ENTRY: No purchase is necessary to enter or win. To enter without an Instagram account, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “SPW26 Giveaway Entry” and include your full name, school name, and program enrollment status. Emails must be received during the Submission Period (April 13–17, 2026). Limit one email entry per person. Entries submitted by email will be entered into the applicable prize drawings but may not be eligible for activity-specific prizes that require real-time Instagram participation.
  4. ODDS OF WINNING: Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Submission Period. The Sponsor cannot guarantee a minimum or maximum number of entrants.
  5. CHAPTER CHALLENGE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Submissions not in compliance with the submission requirements outlined in these Official Rules (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) may not be considered. Submissions may not include profanity, obscenity or otherwise incorporate inappropriate themes or activities. Submissions may not include, depict, or promote vandalism or property damage. Submissions found, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, to be inappropriate, in poor taste, or to violate the Sponsor’s Bylaws or policies will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, unreadable, unqualified, or incomplete Submissions, or Submissions not received for any reason. Submissions will not be acknowledged.
  6. WINNER SELECTION & PRIZES: For the “Student Chapter Challenge” activity, the first chapter to submit all challenge items (25 items worth 50 points) over Instagram in the timeliest manner according to the instructions at adha.org/events/student-proud-week-2026/. In the event of a tie, the chapter that completed all required items in the shortest total elapsed time, as determined by Instagram timestamp, will be declared the winner. The student chapter that wins will receive up to 50 custom t-shirts and a career coaching session from Heartland Dental. (Approximate Retail Value: $20 per t-shirt; career coaching session value to be determined by Heartland Dental.)
    1. For the “Chat with Champions” activity on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 every question submitted by a student over Instagram via the story question sticker or by leaving a comment on the dedicated post will have their name entered into a drawing for one of three Amazon $50 gift cards (Approximate Retail Value: $50 each; $150 total). The winners will be drawn at random from this list.
    2. For the “Pop Quiz with the ADHA Prez” activity on Wednesday, three winners will be chosen at random from all the students who view, interact or comment on the quiz questions on April 15, 2026. The winners will receive a $100 gift card to FIGS (Approximate Retail Value: $100 each; $300 total).
    3. For the “Heartland Dental Instagram Takeover” three winners will be chosen at random from the participants who like, comment or interact with the Instagram live event on April 16, 6pm CT – 7pm CT on @youradha. The winners will receive a $100 gift card for Clove shoes.
    4. For Friday’s challenge, a bonus quiz will launch at 8 AM CT on the Student Proud Week landing page. Students will answer riddle questions about My DH Life resources for a chance to win additional points for their Student Chapter Challenge scores. Only one quiz may be submitted per chapter and will allow the chapters to win up to 10 extra points.
    5. Submissions that do not comply with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification. The Sponsor’s decision regarding all matters of the Giveaway, including, without limitation, whether a Submission is qualified, will be final and binding and no discussions will be entered into with respect thereto.
    6. Sponsor is not responsible for inaccurate Prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Giveaway. No cash alternative to the Prize will be offered. The Prize is not transferable. The Prize is subject to availability, and the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. The Sponsor will notify the winner when and how the Prize will be distributed. ALL TAXES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. The Prize is awarded without warranty, express or implied, of any kind. The winner’s name, social handle, image, and likeness may be included in Sponsor’s publications and posted on its website, Instagram and via other forms of social media.
  7. WINNER NOTIFICATION: The winners will be notified within 5 calendar days after the end of the Submission Period via Instagram DM. Inability to contact a winner may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize within 5 calendar days of notification or is not qualified to win, the Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the Prize from the winner and choose a replacement winner.
  8. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
    1. Entrants entering a Submission into the Giveaway warrant that they have permission to do so from all those tagged in the Submission, and Entrants relieve Sponsor and its respective subsidiaries and affiliates, of all liability related to the use, sharing, or publication of any content or information included in the Submission.
    2. No transfer, assignment, or substitution of the Prize is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute Prize (or prize components) for an item of equal or greater value at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
    3. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Giveaway.
    4. By entering and/or accepting the Prize, Entrants and the winners agree to hold and indemnify Sponsor, and its respective subsidiaries and affiliates, promotional partners, directors, officers, and employees harmless for liability, damages, or claims for injury or loss to any person or property, relating to, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, participation in this Giveaway, the acceptance and/or subsequent use or misuse or condition of the Prize awarded, or any claims including but not limited to claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, or copyright infringement. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the Entrant ineligible. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the immediate and unrestricted right to disqualify any Entrant or the Prize winners, if either commits or has committed any act or has been involved or becomes involved in any situation or occurrence which the Sponsor deems likely to subject the Sponsor, Entrant, or winner to ridicule, scandal, or contempt or which reflects unfavorably upon the Sponsor in any way. If such information is discovered by Sponsor after a winner has received notice of winning and before the Prize is awarded, Sponsor may rescind the Prize in its entirety. If a portion of the Prize has already been awarded, Sponsor may withdraw the remainder of the Prize that has not yet been fulfilled. Decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding in all matters related to this paragraph. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Giveaway, or in the announcement of the Prize.
  9. NOT ENDORSED BY INSTAGRAM: By participating in this Giveaway, Entrant acknowledges that this Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram and releases Instagram from any and all liability arising from or related to this Giveaway. The information you are providing for this Giveaway is being provided to the Sponsor and not to Instagram and will be used to notify you if you have won, and to inform you about special offers from the Sponsor and/or its trusted partners, affiliates, exhibitors, and sponsors.
  10. CONDUCT: All Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. The Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person they find to be tampering with the entry process or operation of the Giveaway website or that they find has otherwise violated these rules.
  11. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Sponsor is not responsible for lost or late Submissions nor for electronic-transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone-equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Giveaway, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Giveaway. Sponsor reserves the right to select winners from eligible entries received as of the termination date. CAUTION: Any attempt by an Entrant to deliberately damage any website, Sponsor’s intranet or undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such Entrant to the fullest extent of the law. If there is a dispute as to the identity of the Entrant, the Prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the social media account or related email address. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person to whom the social media account or e-mail address is assigned.
  12. GOVERNING LAW: This Giveaway is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to principles of conflict of laws. All cases and claims pertaining to this Giveaway must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Chicago, Illinois, without recourse to class-action suits.
  13. SEVERABILITY: If any provision of these Official Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction or appointed arbitrator, such determination shall in no way affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision herein.
