The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) is breaking new ground in interprofessional education with the launch of the Integrated Care Summit. This innovative event is designed to dismantle the silos that fragment patient care across dental, medical and behavioral health disciplines.

Taking place May 15–17, 2026 just outside of Denver, Colorado, the Integrated Care Summit represents ADHA’s commitment to advancing whole-person care through meaningful collaboration. While dental hygienists have long understood the oral-systemic connection, translating that knowledge into coordinated care requires bringing diverse healthcare providers into the same room. That’s exactly what this event sets out to accomplish.

Breaking New Ground in Interprofessional Education

Through generous partnerships with CareQuest Institute for Oral Health and Henry Schein, ADHA has created a learning environment that mirrors the integrated care model it champions. The Summit will convene dental hygienists alongside dentists, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health professionals and public health leaders. This gathering of specialists will allow each to bring their unique expertise to solve shared challenges in patient care.

Expert Faculty, Actionable Solutions

The Summit’s faculty represents leading experts across specialties, delivering content tailored to multiple disciplines. Sessions are designed to tackle role-specific care protocols while exploring emerging tools like biomarker testing, tele-dentistry and comprehensive risk screening. Attendees won’t just hear about integration, they will put it interprofessional workflows into practice and develop ready-to-implement communication strategies.

Learning objectives span the full spectrum of integrated care: identifying oral-systemic connections, strengthening patient communication about these links, and applying actionable screening steps in daily practice. With 10.0 live/interactive CE and CME credits available, the educational value is off the charts.

Wellness as Professional Development

ADHA has embedded wellness directly into the professional development experience. Yoga sessions, guided mindfulness, golf outings and spa time are intentional components of a program that recognizes healthcare providers need renewal to sustain collaborative practice.

Evening receptions and structured networking create space for the informal conversations where true collaboration takes root. These connections are often as valuable as formal sessions, allowing providers to build relationships that support care coordination long after the summit ends.
