ADHA’s committees play a vital role in advancing the mission of the association and supporting the dental hygiene profession. Each committee operates under a specific charge that defines its purpose, responsibilities, and scope of work. See below how this committee contributes to ADHA’s strategic priorities.

Governance Committee

Purpose:
The Governance Committee solicits nominations, vets and evaluates candidates to fill At-Large Director, Officer, and Elected Committee Member positions as vacancies arise or terms expire, and recommends a slate of highly qualified candidates for the Board of Directors’ review and approval. At the Board’s request, the Governance Committee may also evaluate and recommend individuals to fill Officer and Board vacancies.

Charge:
The committee identifies skill sets, creates application forms and interview materials, solicits and evaluates candidates, and presents slates of qualified individuals to fill Board and Governance Committee positions. The Governance Committee ensures alignment between the Bylaws and Strategic Plan.
