Jessica August, MSDH, CDA, RDH, FADHA
Jessica is a passionate educator, administrator and a longstanding member and volunteer with the ADHA, where she has served at local, state and national levels. Currently the Director of Health Professions at North Idaho College (NIC) in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Jessica leads a diverse range of healthcare programs including Dental Hygiene, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography Technology and Surgical Technology.
Before her role at NIC, Jessica was the Program Dean of Dental Sciences at Portland Community College (PCC) in Portland, Oregon. Jessica provided leadership to the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs while overseeing the community-based onsite dental clinic. Her extensive experience also includes full-time teaching positions at the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Idaho State University and Quinsigamond Community College. With more than 15 years of clinical experience in dentistry and allied dental education, Jessica brings a wealth of expertise to her tenure as ADHA Vice President.
Jessica earned her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene with an emphasis in education from the University of Bridgeport, Fones School of Dental Hygiene. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene. Her academic and clinical background have fueled her dedication to research, particularly in preventive dentistry, clinical education, interprofessional collaboration and student learning.
