Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered, please refer to specific scholarships for further requirements:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program in the United States
- Completed a minimum of one year in a dental hygiene curriculum. Students entering their first year of dental hygiene school are not eligible; students may be in the process of completing their first year when application is submitted.
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) – please refer to the specific scholarship to which you are applying to find out the minimum require GPA
- A full-time or part-time student during the academic year for which you are applying
- Must be a professional member or student member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA).
Carol Bauhs Benson Scholarship
Regional limitation: open to students who reside in the following states: Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin

Diann Bomkamp Leadership Scholarship
Awarded to a student, who is pursuing an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene in the State of Missouri, and is a leader in their Student ADHA Chapter. Also, the applicant should be an active volunteer in their community.
Minimum GPA: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Award Amount: $1,000
Sigma Phi Alpha Associate Scholarship
Awarded to an outstanding student pursuing an Associate degree at a school with an active chapter of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society that is a potential future Sigma Phi Alpha member.
Education level pursuing: Associate degree
Minimum GPA: 3.5 on the 4.0 scale

Karla Girts Memorial Community Outreach Scholarship
Sponsored by Procter & Gamble in memory of Karla Girts, BSDH, RDH, past president of ADHA and former Chair of ADHA Institute for Oral Health. Applicants will display a commitment to improving oral health within the geriatric population in addition to a cumulative grade point average equal to or above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. (Requires separate essay.)

HuFriedyGroup/Esther Wilkins Instrument Scholarships
Sponsored by HuFriedyGroup. The program awards recipients with the HuFriedyGroup dental hygiene instruments of their choice, equivalent to a retail value of $1,000
