Two major publications are produced by ADHA—a national magazine and a
scientific journal—as well as a number of specialty newsletters.
Access
Access is an informative, four-color magazine that focuses on
health and practice news, professional issues, and legislative developments.
It provides late-breaking news on issues that are important to dental
hygienists--managed care, multiple practice settings, infection control,
genetic engineering, women's health, product news, new technology, and
periodontal trends. Access also brings you regular departments in quick-read
formats designed for busy schedules.

Strive—The Student View Guidelines (Word doc)
May-June 2009 Issue:
Hand Instruments: A Shift in Paradigms
By Cynthia Biron Leiseca, RDH, MA
This article represents a departure from the typical Access lead story and may challenge your thinking about a topic that dental hygiene practitioners sometimes take personally. Cynthia Biron Leiseca presents a new instrumentation technique to answer the need for patient-centered dental hygiene care that also preserves the musculoskeletal health of the professional. Read the story and consider if you might be willing to try something new.
On the cover: Cynthia Biron Leiseca, RDH, MA, chair of the Dental Health Programs at Tallahassee Community College, in Tallahassee, Fla., author of this issue’s lead story. Also on the cover are class of 2010 dental hygiene student Jeanne Palmieri and patient Daniel Wagner
