Online Community for Denture Wearers Launched

Dental professionals can now direct both new and veteran denture patients to GlaxoSmithKline’s newly launched online community for denture wearers, www.mydenturecare.com. The site offers information about the proper care and maintenance of full and partial dentures, hints for improved confidence and security, and the latest denture news and research.

“The psychological impact of wearing dentures can be quite profound,” says Ronald Rupp, GlaxoSmithKline senior manager of professional relations. “Dentures may affect everyday functions such as speaking and eating, and educating patients about proper denture care and maintenance, as well what to expect with new dentures, can help manage patient expectations and ensure a satisfying denture-wearing experience.”

Features of the site include tips for making the transition to new dentures and eating and speaking properly; information about cleanser and adhesive options, including the proper usage and removal of denture adhesive; and links to additional online resources. Patients can also obtain coupons and special offers for GlaxoSmithKline products.

“This new, online community provides dental professionals with an additional way to communicate with their patients about properly caring for dentures, which can help ensure [that] patients have a successful denture-wearing experience,” says Brendan Steidle, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare associate brand manager. “Living with dentures presents unique challenges, and patients can benefit from information about care and maintenance, as well as simple tips to help improve confidence and security.”
