| 2005 Wrigley/ADHA Tobacco
Intervention Award Presented to Kirsten Jarvi
Chicago—July 7, 2005—The
American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Kirsten
Jarvi, RDH, BS, of Redwood City, Calif., as the recipient of the
2005 Wrigley/ADHA Tobacco Intervention Award.
The award, sponsored by the Wm. Wrigley Jr.
Company, recognizes outstanding tobacco intervention efforts within
the community by dental hygienists.
Jarvi received her bachelor of arts degree
in biology from Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, Calif.,
in 1993 and her bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene from
the University of California San Francisco. Jarvi has served as
both a delegate and an alternate delegate to ADHA from California.
Jarvi was honored at ADHA’s 82nd annual
session in Las Vegas on June 25th where she received $2,000 and
a commemorative award.
ADHA is the largest national organization
representing the professional interests of more than 120,000 dental
hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive
oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide
