Local Dental Hygienist Sandra O. Rosetti
Chicago—June 27, 2005—Sandra
O. Rosetti, RDH, of Manlius, N.Y., was named by the American Dental
Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) as one of two recipients of
the 2005 Crest/ADHA Award for Clinical Dental Hygienists.
The award program, co-sponsored by ADHA and
Procter & Gamble, the makers of Crest® toothpaste, honors
clinical dental hygienists who make distinctive differences in the
lives of their patients.
Each winner received a $2,000, as well as
a commemorative award. In addition, the winners received expense-free
trips to Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, and ADHA headquarters
in Chicago, as well as the association’s annual session where
they were honored.
Rosetti graduated in 1977 from Broome Community
College, part of the State University of New York (SUNY), with her
associate of applied science degree in dental hygiene. Recently,
she graduated with her bachelor of science degree in health services
management from SUNY Empire State. She is also a certified smoking
cessation specialist. Rosetti is currently employed at Small Smiles
Dentistry of Syracuse, a large Medicaid practice, where she provides
oral health care services to the underserved, neglected, and children
with special needs, many of whom cannot receive treatment elsewhere.
ADHA is the largest national organization
representing the professional interests of more than 120,000 dental
hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive
oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide
