| ADHA Announces Recipient of
2004 Distinguished Service Award-Dale Hahn
Chicago-August 5, 2004 – The
American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Dale
G. Hahn, RDH, of Sweeney, Texas, as a recipient of the 2004 ADHA
Distinguished Service Award.
The award recognizes outstanding achievement
and dedication to the profession of dental hygiene.
Hahn, a dental hygiene instructor at Wharton
County Junior College (WCJC) in Wharton, Texas, has been actively
involved with dental hygiene constituent and component organizations
since 1976. She has served in a number of positions including two-term
component president for the Bay Area Dental Hygiene Society (BADHS),
president of the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association (TDHA),
delegation chair and delegate to ADHA annual session, and is currently
serving as the chair of bylaws. She is also the liaison to WCJC
for the BADHS, as well as alternate trustee. Hahn recently served
as a member and council chair on the ADHA Council on Annual Session
Association Policy and Bylaws.
She has also participated in liaison activities
for TDHA, as well as past activities with the American Association
of Retired Persons (AARP). Hahn is also an active participant in
TDHA Legislative Awareness Days that occur during legislative sessions.
She was previously nominated for the ADHA Student Advisor Award.
Hahn was honored during the opening ceremonies
at ADHA’s 81st annual session in Dallas on June 23.

hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive
oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide
