| Kim Johnson Presented with 2008 ADHA Student Advisor Award
Chicago—August 11, 2008—Kim Johnson, RDH, BS, of Minneapolis, Minn., was recently named by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) as the winner of the 2008 ADHA Student Advisor Award. The award was presented during the second plenary session at ADHA’s 85th Annual Session in Albuquerque, N.M., on June 21st.
The award program sponsored by Waterpik Technologies, honors student advisors who exhibit excellence in both the encouragement of student involvement in the Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association and their involvement with ADHA. Johnson received $1,000 cash award, air travel to Annual Session, as well as complimentary lodging at the event.
Johnson is an adjunct assistant professor in dental hygiene at the University of Minnesota, as well as serving as the student advisor. She was nominated for the award for her outstanding efforts in a multitude of community outreach programs, and her exemplary work in instilling a sense of commitment and pride in the profession of dental hygiene in each of her students.
