ADHA Announces Recipient of J&J/ADHA Award for
Excellence in Dental Hygiene

The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Kimberly K. Benkert, RDH, BS, MPH, COM, FAADH, of Countryside, Ill., as the recipient of the Johnson & Johnson/ADHA Award for Excellence in Dental Hygiene. She was honored during the Johnson & Johnson Awards for Excellence/President’s Luncheon at ADHA’s 86th Annual Session in Washington, D.C., on June 21.

With this award, ADHA and Johnson & Johnson recognize individual dental hygienists who have made “outstanding accomplishments that have a significant impact on the practice and future of the dental hygiene profession.” The recipients have at least 10 years of membership in ADHA and its constituents, demonstrate an active involvement in the association, and were nominated by a colleague for their outstanding accomplishments.

Benkert obtained her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from Loyola University, College of Dentistry in 1978 and went on to gain her Master of Public Health in 1996 from the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health. She has been an active member of ADHA for over 30 years, serving on various committees and holding the presidency for the 2002-2003 term. Benkert is the CEO and president of Midwest Orofacial Myology and MYO USA, Inc.
