ADHA Announces Recipient of 2009 Esther Wilkins Future Leader Award
The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Rachel K. Henry, RDH, MS, of Hilliard, Ohio, as the recipient of the Esther Wilkins Future Leader Award. She was honored during the Saturday Plenary Session and ADHA Award Presentations at ADHA’s 86th Annual Session in Washington, D.C., on June 20.
This award was created to recognize dental hygienists who exhibit a strong commitment to the dental hygiene profession and have demonstrated leadership in ADHA within five years of graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
Henry received her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene in 2005 and her master’s degree in 2007 at The Ohio State University. She has been a member of ADHA since 2005 and was president of the Columbus, Ohio component from 2007-2008. Henry is currently employed at The Ohio State University.
ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 150,000 dental hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide educational, clinical and therapeutic services that support total health through the promotion of optimal oral health.
