Lynn Ramer of Logansport, Ind., is the 2009-2010 president of the Chicago-based American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA).
Ramer has served in a number of positions within ADHA including as vice president and both a delegate and an alternate delegate, a four-year term as the district V trustee, and as the board advisor for both the Council on Public Relations and the Council on Education. Most recently Ramer served as the president-elect of ADHA. Ramer has also served as the president, president-elect, vice president, treasurer and delegation chair for the Indiana Dental Hygienists’ Association. Her service to Indiana extends to the local component level where she served as president among other positions.
Ramer received her associate of science degree in dental hygiene from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, in 1982. She currently works in clinical practice at Perfect Smiles Dental Care in Kokomo, Ind.
In 1997 Ramer was the recipient of the Indiana Outstanding Dental Hygienists’ Association Service award, and is a regular volunteer in her community. She has spent time educating both preschool and kindergarten children on the importance of good oral health, has participated with her dental office in the “Dentists Delivering Smiles” program, and has been a participant in the “Doctors With A Heart” program which provides services to those in the community who cannot regularly afford such care.
In recognition of significant contributions of time and talents out of an abiding sense of responsibility, commitment and concern for others, Ramer received the Distinguished Hoosier Award from the Governor of Indiana on June 23, 2009.
